On ne savait pas trop a quoi s'attendre pour l'Uruguay, pour nous c'était juste un passage nécessaire entre l'Argentine et le Brésil, rien d'autre, on aura cependant quelques bonne surprises sur la fin (voir prochain article). Notre ferry nous amène donc à Colonia del Sacramento depuis Bueno Areas où nous passons une journee avant de rejoindre Montevideo.
Que dire ? C'est relax ! L'Uruguay ne compte que 3 millions d'habitant et ça se sent rapidement. La capitale est ultra calme et acceuillante, dans les rues la moitié des gens se ballade avec leur thermos et leur tasse de "mate" d'un air de dire "Don't worry , be happy". On en rigole avec le gérant de notre auberge en imaginant les parisiens se ballader avec leur thermos d'eau chaude et leur mug dans les rues ... plus qu'improbable :)
On profitera d'une soiree pour se faire un plaisir avec degustation de vin Chillien , Argentin et Uruguayen le tout accompagné de viande ( ce qui nous change pas mal du régime a base de pâtes du moment ). On aura donc passé 2 jours dans les alentours étant donne que notre but et de rejoindre les plages de la Paloma, Cabo Colonio et Punta del Diablo.

We did not have any expectation regarding Uruguay, for us it was just a passage between Argentina and Brazil nothing else. Well, we discovered that the country is more than just a "gateway" and got some good surprises in the end. Our ferry took us to Colonia del Sacramento from Bueno Aires where we spent a day before heading to Montevideo.
Only 3 million people live here and we guess it makes the place very quiet and relax. The capital is ultra welcoming, in the street half the people walk with their thermos and cup of "mate" with an air of saying "Don't worry, be happy". We laugh with the manager of our guesthouse just imagining the same situation in Paris ( people walking around with their thermos of hot water and mug in the street ). The same evening he offers us a "Wine and Meat" dinner with a selection of good wine from Argentina, Chile and Uruguay : Delicious !.
We spent 2 days in the area, our goal in Uruguay is not to stay in the cities but to enjoys the beach up north in the direction of La Paloma and Cabo Polonio.
